About the Role We are looking for a field sales representative that will combine strong technical knowledge with excellent sales and communication skills to drive business growth, provide technical support and build lasting relationships with customers. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping our market presence and supporting customers with innovative solutions.
An initial training period will be provided depending on your experience. Approximately 80% of the role will involve customer site visits, with the remaining 20% dedicated to office/home-based tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities.
Meet and exceed KPIs, revenue objectives, and activity targets.
Deliver impactful, technically-led presentations to customers and prospects.
Provide technical guidance on applications, formulations, processing techniques, and product suitability.
Work collaboratively with internal technical teams to resolve customer challenges.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, innovations, and best practice.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and suppliers.
Provide after-sales support, ensuring customer satisfaction and successful product application.
Conduct regular on-site visits to offer hands‑on support and assess customer requirements.
Monitor and report on competitor activity, market changes, and industry developments.
Prepare regular reports covering sales performance, forecasts, trends, and new opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
2–5 years’ experience in technical sales.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to interpret technical data, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
Experience using Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or similar (not essential, but desirable).
Knowledge of sector applications – e.g., construction, marine, aerospace, insulation, buoyancy.
Understanding of environmental, safety, and compliance regulations relating to foam/composite materials.
Willingness to travel extensively (primarily UK, but occasionally international travel required).
