ROLE PURPOSE: 

Thermacell is currently seeking a highly capable 2nd Shift Production Supervisor with manufacturing and maintenance experience. The person in this role will be responsible for supervising and operating production equipment, documenting production information, and performing routine maintenance on equipment and machinery. Please note that this role is a working supervisor position. This role will report to the Plant Manager.

STATUS: Exempt

WORKING HOURS: Typically, between 3pm-11:30pm M-F (extended hours as needed during busy season). The 2nd shift position and hours are fixed, with no expectation of moving to a different shift within the first two years. This is a non-negotiable requirement and should be strongly considered prior to applying. Employee onboarding will take place on the first shift for approximately 4-8 weeks prior to transferring to second shift.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Oversee departmental day-to-day production & fulfillment activities. 
  • Ensure product is safely produced, on time, within budgeted costs, and meet product specifications.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked, prepped & staged in adherence to customer compliance & fulfillment date. 
  • Ensures shipments are loaded correctly onto trucks.
  • Responsible for forklift certifying employees as Forklift Certified Trainer. 
  • Develop standard operating procedures and train production associates in process, job, skills, and safety.
  • Ensure that health and safety regulations are always  dhered to.
  • Responsible for maintaining product quality assurance.
  • Monitors & is responsible for ensuring production & fulfillment metrics are met. 
  • Actively participates and represents 2nd shift team on the Safety Committee. 
  • Ensure production staff are following internal polices and industry regulations.
  • Set and communicate expectations to production staff, as well as evaluate their performance via performance review and coaching sessions.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and coaching staff. Responsible for training of new employees.
  • Establish, assign, and prioritize workflow, staffing, and schedules.
  • Manage special projects outside of normal daily production process.
  • Ensure production release packages and production confirmations are completed accurately and timely.
  • Confirm correct materials and appropriate quantities are used, reported and document any discrepancies.
  • Drives continuous improvement utilizing improvement methodologies such as Center lining, Zero Effort Changeovers, Focused Improvement, Process Improvement mapping, etc.
  • Assists in repair and maintenance of production and ensure daily equipment CIL's are completed. 
  • Troubleshoot any equipment issues that arise and provide technical support to resolve stoppages or failures. 
  • Operates machines when needed.
  • Supports inventory management policy & ensures cycle counts are completed on the shift
  • Leads daily production review and communicates out to operations management.
  • Implement department strategies to improve cost, quality, and performance.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to optimize staffing and productivity.
  • Responsible for securing the facility at end of shift
  • Other duties & required certifications assigned.

COMPENSATION

Compensation for this position will include a competitive base salary and an Annual Target Bonus opportunity. Details provided separately.
