Restaurant Host/Hostess

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Restaurant Host/Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. This role is vital in ensuring excellent guest experiences from the moment they arrive until they leave. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, hospitality experience, and a passion for providing outstanding customer service. Prior restaurant or hotel guest services experience is preferred, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS. Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems
• Answer phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
• Assist with guest inquiries and provide information about the menu and restaurant services
• Coordinate with the service staff to ensure smooth flow of seating and service
• Handle guest concerns promptly and courteously to ensure guest satisfaction
• Maintain cleanliness of the host stand and waiting areas
• Support other front-of-house duties as needed, including guest relations and hospitality services

Skills

• Previous host/host experience preferred, especially within food service or restaurant environments
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Professional phone etiquette for managing reservations and guest inquiries
• Experience in hotel or guest services is a plus
• Knowledge of serving protocols and guest hospitality standards is advantageous
