Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Commercial Landscape Equipment Mechanic Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our commercial landscape equipment, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and meets safety standards. The Equipment Mechanic Lead will also provide guidance and leadership to a team of mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance on commercial landscape equipment, including mowers, tractors, and other machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and lead a team of equipment mechanics, providing guidance and support.
  • Schedule and prioritize work assignments to meet operational needs.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify equipment issues and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Ensure that all repaired equipment meets safety and performance standards.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory.
  • Generate reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities.
  • Training:
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior mechanics on equipment repair techniques and safety procedures.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other departments to coordinate equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with landscaping crews to address equipment-related concerns.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in equipment mechanics is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a commercial landscape equipment mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
