Estimator

Role Summary:

The Estimator is responsible for analyzing project specifications, determining costs, preparing accurate and competitive bids, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to understand project scope.
• Conduct material take-offs and quantify required resources (labor, materials, equipment).
• Analyze costs, including labor, materials, subcontractor quotes, and overhead expenses.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and bids for projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project details and requirements.
• Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain records of cost estimates, bids, and project documentation.
• Monitor project progress and costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify and communicate potential risks or issues that may impact project costs or timelines.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to estimating.

Required experience:

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in residential, remodeling, and/or sales estimating.
• Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
• Solid knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, and project management processes.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors.
• Construction site experience is preferred to better understand on-the-ground realities impacting costs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45, $65,000.00 per year
