Job Summary:

  • Assess student needs and construct strategies that aid students with accomplishing academic success, while preserving continuous communication with parents.

  • Implement appropriate strategies for academic intervention.

  • Work collaboratively with staff to offer insight in the development of academic goals & objectives for students.

  • Collaborate with student support team (teachers, counselors, administration) to design individualized/accommodated programming for success.

  • Attend Learning Team meetings when necessary for student success.

  • Engage students with suitable classroom management techniques.

  • Keeping records of lesson plans, and records of student's performance.

  • Facilitate and support learning aligned to the curriculum of Independent School District 196.

  • Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.

  • Carry out responsibilities as defined by the principal

  • Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.

Addtional job description:

  • Provide educational interventions and progress monitoring for students who need additional support

  • Use identified scientific, research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficulties

  • Implement the MTSS model of increasingly intense student interventions and monitor student progress according to prescribed procedures

  • Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during interventions

Qualifications:

  • Licensed by the state of Minnesota to teach high school. Update based on position

  • Strong general academic background.

  • Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and community.

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

Compensation / Benefits:
According to contractual agreement.
