shipping/receiving supervisor- 1st shift

POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor ensures the smooth and efficient operations of the Material Handling Staff, including outbound shipping, inbound unloading, putaway, picking, and other Material Handling activities.

POSITION DETAILS

• Oversee the Material Handling staff

o Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow

o Ensure that all Material Handling personnel are in compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and other company-related policies and procedures

o Ensure that all Material Handling personnel are properly trained and certified for the equipment they use

o Coordinate the handling of employee disciplinary issues with the HR department

o Prepare and discuss regularly scheduled performance evaluations for all direct reports.

• Oversee Inbound Trailer Unloading activities

o Monitor the daily schedule of incoming shipments and materials and troubleshoot late shipments with carriers and vendors

o Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of incoming shipment unloading activities

o Investigate and solve customer receiving problems and issues in collaboration with Shipping and Receiving Manager

o Collaborate with Inventory department to ensure accuracy and completeness of putaway locations for all pallets received in Powerhouse WMS system

• Oversee Outbound Shipment activities

o Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the preparation of bills of lading, packing lists, and other shipment documentation, per Vista and customer requirements

o Ensure the accuracy, completeness, undamaged product/pallet integrity, and safety of outbound trailer loading; inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with customers' specifications

o Determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet schedules

o Arrange transportation that optimizes service and resources and meets customer requirements

• Oversee Material Movement activities

o Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of inbound pallet putaways and post-production putaways and staging of completed production pallets in the shipment staging area

o Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of product picking/restocking for scheduled production work and delivery to the proper production line area

• High School Diploma required, 2 or 4-year college degree preferred

• At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment; strong leadership and team development skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and Warehouse Management System

• Hands-on commitment to getting the job done

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Follow processes set in place

• Experience with Customer Service
