Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is crucial for the efficient flow of goods into and out of our warehouse. You will be responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and preparing outgoing shipments for delivery. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
  • Verify quantities and item numbers against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Properly store received goods in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment according to company standards.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
  • Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and carriers.
  • Ensure all outbound shipments are accurately documented and loaded.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
  • Ability to perform strenuous tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Understand and follow all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, such as safety vests and steel-toed boots.
  • Demonstrated ability in lifting and moving materials safely.
