We are seeking an organized and efficient Order Picker to join our vibrant warehouse team in New York City, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment. Your efficiency and accuracy directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of our logistics operations. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and accurately, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and accurately interpret customer orders using scanners or pick lists.
- Navigate the warehouse efficiently to locate and retrieve specified items.
- Verify picked items against order requirements to ensure accuracy.
- Package items appropriately for shipment, ensuring they are protected during transit.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all warehouse cleanliness standards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any damaged items, discrepancies, or safety concerns to your supervisor immediately.
- Contribute to team efforts by assisting with other warehouse duties as requested, supporting the broader logistics goals.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is preferred. Candidates should possess good physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks involving significant lifting of items up to 30 pounds repeatedly. A keen eye for detail and accuracy is essential. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions precisely is required. Basic math skills are necessary for order verification.
