Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial software, and industry-standard practices. This role involves managing various accounting functions to ensure accurate financial records, compliance with GAAP, and timely reporting. The Bookkeeper will support both corporate and non-profit accounting operations, utilizing multiple accounting software platforms to maintain the integrity of financial data.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing invoices and payments.
  • Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to record transactions accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and governmental accounting regulations where applicable.
  • Handle payroll processing and tax-related tasks with precision.
  • Assist with budgeting processes and financial report writing for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct double entry bookkeeping to maintain the integrity of financial records.
  • Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and reconciliations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within corporate or non-profit sectors.
  • Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts.
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes, payroll management, tax experience, and budget preparation.
  • Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
  • Effective communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating with team members. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
