Calculus Tutor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Calculus Math Tutor to assist students in achieving their academic goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, strong knowledge of test content, and the ability to create engaging learning experiences. This role involves working closely with students to improve their skills in areas such as highschool senior math and calculus. The tutor will foster a positive learning environment, adapt teaching methods to individual needs, and support students in building confidence and test-taking strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement customized tutoring plans tailored to each student's needs and testing goals.
• Conduct one-on-one or group tutoring sessions focusing on students' level.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Provide clear explanations of complex concepts in an understandable manner.
• Utilize computer skills to incorporate digital resources, practice tests, and educational software into sessions.
• Create a supportive environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.
• Track and report on student progress to parents or guardians as needed.
• Assign and mark homework daily.

Experience

• Prior experience teaching and tutoring Math and Calculus to high school students.
• Classroom experience or background in teaching is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of Canadian high school Math curriculum.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.
• Familiarity with TI-84 graphing calculator

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $15.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
