Silver Springs is ideally situated on an expansive, 290-acre property in north-west Calgary, only minutes from the downtown core. The Club continues to craft a culture of service and remarkable care that clearly extends throughout the golf course, the recently renovated clubhouse and through quality member service and events.

The Club has recently embarked on an aggressive multi-year strategic plan that focuses on:

· Operational Excellence – conducting our business operations to provide exceptional service and a quality experience to our members and guests

· A Quality Golf Course – maintaining our course to a high standard of conditioning and fit & finish

· Financial Excellence – maximizing revenues and effectively managing expenses all while balancing the member experience

· Brand Awareness – building our Club's brand within the Calgary and Alberta golf marketplace to continue to attract new members

The Club is currently seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to ensure that the technical/operational requirements of our building systems are in proper working condition.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the repair and preventative maintenance requirements of the clubhouse infrastructure, equipment.

Responsibilities

· Schedule preventative maintenance and other repairs

· Plan repair work using building's blueprints or equipment manual as needed

·  Perform basic facility maintenance and housekeeping repairs including, but not limited to:

o   Electrical

o   Plumbing

o   HVAC systems

o   Building equipment

o   Carpentry

o   Painting

o   Other

· Keep maintenance logs.

· Resolve technical maintenance problems.

· Schedule and/or supervise outside contractors.

Qualifications

In addition to a High School Diploma (preferably with a Specialty/Technical Training) and at least 2 years of experience in A/C, Heating, electrical, plumbing or other trade, the preferred candidate will have:

·  Effective communication skills with co-workers and members

·  A basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, HVAC and other systems

·  Proficient mechanical skills

·  A working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices

·  The ability to operate all equipment used for maintenance

·   A valid drivers license

Working Conditions

Because this is a seasonal, part-time position with a schedule and hours that will change regularly, depending on business needs.

Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required.

The employee may be required to move or lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work both indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to extreme weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, sharp objects, extreme heat and/or open flame. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Relocation is not available.
