Grand Rapids, Michigan is looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, loading, and unloading materials throughout the facility. Your primary duties will involve operating various types of forklifts to transport inventory, assist with order picking, and manage stock placement. Precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to Safety are essential in this role. This position is critical to maintaining the flow of goods within our logistics network. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure operational efficiency and inventory accuracy. We provide a safe and supportive work environment, and require all team members to strictly follow Safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator to contribute to a successful operation.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with order picking and staging for shipment.
- Store materials in appropriate locations, ensuring proper stacking and rack utilization.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all company Safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Must be able to assist with manual tasks, including Lifting up to 50 lbs, when necessary.
- Contribute to overall warehouse logistics and inventory management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment. Valid forklift certification required. Strong knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Reliable and punctual. Understanding of basic logistics principles is a plus.
