We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Madison, Wisconsin. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying outgoing shipments, and maintaining shipping records. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and logistics software is highly beneficial. While this role is primarily administrative, some light lifting (up to 20 lbs) may be required. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping labels and documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against order manifests.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records.
- Communicate with internal teams and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Assist with inventory checks related to outgoing goods.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
- Proven experience in a shipping or logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and general office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to perform light lifting (up to 20 lbs) as needed.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and the use of PPE is encouraged.
