Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. Mechanical Engineer responsible for design and engineering of leak repair and hot taps used on live, pressurized assets. This role is design-led, with direct involvement in custom tooling, and R&D projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects involving system design, automation, and product development. The successful applicant will contribute to the creation and optimization of mechanical systems, utilizing advanced CAD tools and programming skills to deliver efficient and reliable solutions. A background in mechanical knowledge, schematics, and manufacturing is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer Leak Repair and Hot Tap designs for pressurized piping and equipment
  • Design hot tapping and line stopping solutions, including custom tooling
  • Collaborate on R&D and design development of proprietary equipment
  • Design, develop, and analyze mechanical systems using CAD software such as SolidWorks
  • Create detailed schematics, drawings, and technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Support prototyping, testing, and field trials of new designs
  • Interface with fabrication, field execution teams, and clients
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, API, and applicable codes and standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system design for manufacturability and performance
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate design concepts and project progress

Experience

  • P.Eng or eligible for registration in Alberta
  • Proven experience in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Leak Repair, Hot Tap
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles within manufacturing environments
  • Experience working with schematics, system design documentation, and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of mechanical components including gears, bearings, actuators, and structural analysis is preferred
  • Working knowledge of ASME PCC-2, ASME B31, API 579

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $90,000.00-$160,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Work Location: In person
