ScanDesigns was founded in 1976 and is a locally owned family run company. We have 6 stores and a main distribution centre. We are looking for an Assistant Distribution Centre Manager will fully support the Distribution Centre Manager. The day-to-day responsibilities will be supporting the manager in supervising, receiving, order fulfillment, and warehouse inventory management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting the DC Manager in the successful and timely flow of warehouse daily tasks. Assist with and help oversee all work that is scheduled to be processed daily.
Responsible for working with the DC Manager to ensure accurate and timely processing of PO's and deliveries to all customers & our other stores.
Expected to work closely with the Product Team regarding vendor shipments and any other inventory-related issues.
Communicate all shipment problems and discrepancies to the manager.
Ensure all warehouse team members are following all safety standards.
Accurately pick, fills, scans and packs transfer orders for delivery or shipment to our stores
Assist in loading and unloading of transfer orders in the company's vehicle by hand or pallet jack.
Prepare shipping documents and schedule freight pick-ups as required.
Communicate with DC Manager regarding daily operational issues and events.
Responsible for the warehouse inventory accuracy.
Foster team environment within the warehouse and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Help DC Manager in evaluating and mentoring warehouse personnel.
Always organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness & cleanliness.
Perform other duties as required by the nature of the position or as requested by the DC Manager.
Physical demands, abilities, and attributes:
Minimum of 2-3 years of warehouse/distribution center supervisory experience; working experience in a fashion warehouse distribution is a large asset.
Physically fit; able to stand for long durations, lift/carry cartons weighing up to 50lbs and/or move objects that weigh more than 100lbs via pallet jack.
Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and use a step stool, and push/pull wheeled carts and pallet jack and order pickers.
Regularly required to use full-body movements when physically moving stock or regular work activities.
Takes accountability, identifies, executes, and drives actions to consistently achieve desired results.
Able to follow and carry out instructions with minimal supervision.
Strong organization and clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
Must be a self-starter, resourceful, solution-oriented.
Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
Immaculate accuracy and attention to detail.
Punctual and reliable, with a positive, flexible attitude and strong work ethic.
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Proficient with computer systems (i.e.: Microsoft Office) Able to learn any new programs quickly is a definite asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
