We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in San Diego, California. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of goods within our facility and ensuring timely order fulfillment. Your primary duties will include operating a forklift to load and unload trucks, move materials between different areas of the warehouse, and assist with inventory management. You will also be responsible for conducting daily inspections of the forklift to ensure it is in good working order and reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Adherence to all **Safety** protocols and regulations is paramount. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation and a strong understanding of warehouse **Logistics**. This position requires significant **Lifting** and physical exertion, as well as the consistent use of **PPE**. We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to maintaining a productive and secure work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and other vehicles.
- Move and stack inventory according to established procedures.
- Conduct pre-shift equipment checks and report any defects or malfunctions.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company **Safety** policies and procedures, including the proper use of **PPE**.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Participate in **Logistics** planning and execution as needed.
- Be prepared for **Lifting** duties when not operating a forklift.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Forklift Operator required.
- Valid forklift certification (e.g., OSHA).
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse **Logistics** and inventory control.
- Ability to **Lift** up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to **Safety** and adherence to **PPE** requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
