Join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan, as a Shipping & Receiving Associate! This role is pivotal in managing the flow of goods into and out of our warehouse. You will be responsible for accurately documenting, processing, and handling all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring efficiency and integrity throughout the logistics chain. We are looking for a meticulous individual who prioritizes safety and accuracy in all aspects of their work. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately document all incoming and outgoing goods using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain an organized and clean warehouse environment, ensuring easy access to inventory and shipping supplies.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely, adhering to all safety guidelines and wearing required PPE.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed to support the overall logistics operation.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proficiency with WMS and RF scanning technology is a strong asset.
- Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting of heavy items (up to 50-75 lbs).
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of shipping and logistics procedures.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
