We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Inventory Control Specialist for our Des Moines, Iowa location. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, reconciling inventory records, and implementing procedures to prevent stock inaccuracies. This position requires a sharp analytical mind, exceptional organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of inventory management principles within a logistics environment. You will work closely with warehouse operations staff, providing insights and solutions to improve inventory accuracy and reduce loss. Experience with inventory management software and RF scanning technology is essential. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of our order fulfillment processes and the overall profitability of the company. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with receiving, stocking, and shipping departments.
- Ensure proper rotation and storage of inventory.
- Report on inventory accuracy metrics.
Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role. Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices in logistics. Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software. Experience with RF scanning devices. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs). Detail-oriented with high accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
