We are hiring experienced Forklift Operators for our busy distribution center in New York City, New York. This is a critical role within our Logistics operations, requiring a high level of skill, precision, and a steadfast commitment to Safety. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials efficiently and accurately. Your expertise ensures that goods are handled properly, preventing damage and maintaining the integrity of our inventory. Responsibilities include:
- Safely operate sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts.
- Load and unload trucks and containers with a focus on proper weight distribution and securement.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklift equipment.
- Maintain an organized and clutter-free work environment, strictly adhering to Safety guidelines.
- Identify and promptly report any equipment issues or safety hazards.
- Accurately record inventory movements using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Assist with other warehouse functions as needed, supporting the overall Logistics flow.
The ideal candidate possesses a valid forklift certification, a minimum of 1-2 years of operating experience, and a thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures. Excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced urban environment are essential. This position involves significant physical demands, including regular Lifting of items up to 50 pounds and periods of standing and operating the forklift.
