We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Jacksonville, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to our warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our distribution center. You will be handling a variety of materials, requiring precision and attention to detail to prevent damage and ensure accuracy. Strong understanding of warehouse procedures and safety protocols is essential. Responsibilities include:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts to ensure they are in good working order.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Accurately record inventory movements using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including picking, packing, and receiving.
The successful candidate must have proven experience as a forklift operator, a valid certification, and a commitment to workplace safety. Excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are necessary. This position involves significant physical activity, including regular Lifting of items up to 50 pounds and prolonged periods of standing and walking.
