Our Chicago, Illinois distribution center is seeking an experienced Warehouse Coordinator. This pivotal role involves overseeing and managing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety. The Warehouse Coordinator will supervise warehouse staff, manage inventory, coordinate logistics with carriers, and implement process improvements. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse management systems and logistics best practices. A primary focus is maintaining a safe working environment by enforcing all safety regulations and ensuring proper use of PPE. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to impact the efficiency of our entire supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Oversee the receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
- Coordinate with transportation providers to schedule shipments and deliveries.
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with PPE requirements.
- Train and mentor warehouse personnel on operational procedures and safety practices.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for maximum efficiency.
- Maintain records and prepare reports on warehouse activities and logistics performance.
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or management role.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control techniques.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be capable of occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and familiarity with OSHA regulations and PPE.
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
