The team As a native engineer in the Product Experience team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our high‑availability, high‑transactional Property Detail Pages on the app.
You will be part of a multi‑functional team of Product Managers, TPMs, Engineering Managers, and Software Engineers based in Gurgaon, Bangalore, London, and Madrid. We prioritise building high‑quality software with a focus on availability, performance, scalability, and system resiliency.
Our London team is looking for curious, empathetic, and creative problem solvers with a growth mindset. We value our team culture and work together from the office three times a week.
What you’ll do:
Build and evolve the next generation Expedia Group (EG) shared component library framework to be adapted by different EG brands using the latest technologies such as Swift
Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to enable them to develop, re‑use, and solve problems
Develop and test standard software applications in Swift UI and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements
Drive continuous improvement and continuous delivery in our software development process within an agile development team
Be involved in product feature development, working in close partnership with our teams across all our offices around the world
Spot areas of inefficiency in code and offer suggestions for improvements
Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly regarding accessibility, usability, and front‑end technologies
Lead the team to identify and develop lean technical solutions, guiding the team to find the right balance between technical excellence and shipping value to our users
Learn from others and share your own skills & perspectives too – we believe that no one is the finished article, and there should be learning and career development in every role you do
Be an advocate for AI‑first thinking within the mobile team, proactively identifying opportunities where AI can improve user experiences, developer productivity, or operational efficiency
Who you are:
Experience developing features in Swift (preferred) and Objective‑C
Knowledge of API service connection paradigms and GraphQL
Familiarity with associated technologies within their specialisation as part of the wider lifecycle ecosystem (e.g., CI/CI‑D, Git, Github Actions)
Self‑motivated with drive and good organisational skills to work on a fast‑paced team delivering product features
Critical thinker, expected to speak out and voice concerns when needed
Passionate about learning and improving our codebase and developer experience
Collaborated closely with Product Managers to represent the technical feasibility of work and turn requirements into technical solutions
Coached or mentored other Engineers, elevating their technical skillsets
Comfortable working in an AI‑integrated environment, leveraging AI tools in your workflow to improve code quality and innovation speed
