Job Summary:
A premier logistics company is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk for our busy New York City, New York location. You will be responsible for coordinating and processing all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all regulations. This role is vital for customer satisfaction and requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
  • Verify order contents against shipping documents for accuracy.
  • Package items securely for shipment, selecting appropriate materials.
  • Schedule and coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL).
  • Track shipments and proactively address any delays or issues.
  • Maintain organized shipping logs and inventory records.
  • Communicate with warehouse staff, sales teams, and customers regarding shipment status.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and international shipping regulations.
  • Operate shipping equipment, such as pallet jacks and dock levelers.
  • Conduct regular audits of shipping supplies and order necessary replacements.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics role is required.
  • Proficiency in using shipping software (e.g., ShipStation, carrier portals).
  • Strong understanding of shipping documentation and international trade compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience with manual Lifting of packages up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the correct use of PPE.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
