Job Title: Teacher Assistant

Location: Chantilly, VA 20152
Contract Duration: 22 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:50 AM – 3:40 PM
Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour

Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and reliable Teacher Assistant to support instructional delivery and classroom management in a school setting. This role plays a vital part in assisting teachers with daily classroom activities, supporting student learning, and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging educational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support lead teachers with the organization and delivery of daily lessons, classroom activities, learning centers, and group instruction
  • Provide individualized academic, behavioral, and social support to students as needed
  • Monitor student behavior and performance, offering positive reinforcement and redirection
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain classroom materials, supplies, and educational resources
  • Assist with classroom technology, instructional tools, and learning software when applicable
  • Supervise students during class time, transitions, arrival/dismissal, lunch, and recess to ensure safety
  • Assist with grading, recordkeeping, and classroom documentation as directed
  • Communicate professionally with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student progress
  • Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment aligned with school policies and curriculum goals
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in education preferred
  • Prior experience working with children in a school, daycare, tutoring, or youth program setting strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom support skills
  • Ability to follow instructional direction while working independently when needed
  • Demonstrated patience, professionalism, and commitment to student success
  • Familiarity with academic support strategies, child development, or special education is a plus
