We are currently hiring for:

Job Title: Refrigeration/Utilities Supervisor

Job Summary: Refrigeration/Utilities Supervisor is responsible for all maintenance functions necessary to ensure efficient plant operations including but not limited to the ammonia refrigeration system, boiler system, compressed air system, potable water system, waste water system, ice making system and electrical distribution system.

Compensation Details: Starting at $83,306 to $115,000 depending on experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all elements of both regulated and non-regulated programs are followed per the technical safety requirements ensuring compliance with State, Local, Federal and WLF Standards.
  • Work side by side with the PSM department to maintain and improve the PSM program.
  • Schedule utilities team members to maintain the department for optimal facility operation.
  • Prepares and supervises preventative maintenance (PM) schedules to maintain all systems under the Utilities departments, including refrigeration, boilers, waste water, electrical, air system, ice system and potable water systems.
  • Track and report on all utilities on a weekly basis.
  • Works with and communicates with Plant Engineer and all Plant Managers on issues which arise that could adversely impact the operational performance of the facility.
  • Participate on Hazmat Teams and be involved in all aspects of safety and safety training for the Utilities/Maintenance Department teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of utilities, facilities and production equipment maintenance.
  • Must be able to attend and pass multiple GCAP training courses.
  • Must be able to become State/DNR certified in potable water treatment and water distribution within a reasonable amount of time after starting in the role.
  • Direct experience with Refrigeration or Maintenance supervision preferred.
  • Experience with Ammonia Refrigeration.
  • PSM training/knowledge is needed.
  • Knowledge of steam boiler operation and maintenance, including boiler water treatment is needed.
  • Knowledge of wastewater pretreatment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cooling tower maintenance and water treatment is needed.
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of water towers, wells, water disinfection, and water distribution is a plus.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule. Including Days, Nights, weekdays and weekends. For training of off shift employees, for equipment shut downs, and for involvement in unplanned events.
  • Must live within close proximity of the Plant minute radius is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with or ability to learn Google platform.
  • Strong technical and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Must be able to work with USDA, QA personnel, Production personnel and follow all food safety guidelines and HACCP requirements.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if needed.
  • Knowledge of UltiPro or other timekeeping systems is a benefit.
  • Must be able to problem solve.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Coaching and performance management experience a plus.
  • Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug and background screen.
