Responsibilities
- Assist with fabrication projects by cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques under supervision to ensure precise welds.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute fabrication tasks.
- Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools such as schematics to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, and pipe threading equipment to create custom parts.
- Support rigging and assembly activities on construction sites or manufacturing floors.
- Maintain a clean workspace by organizing tools, inspecting materials like sheet metal and ductwork, and adhering to safety standards.
- Follow ASME codes & standards for welding procedures and quality assurance.
- Assist with mechanical tasks such as machining, soldering, or using forklifts for material handling.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving assembly of structural components or piping systems.
- Support safety protocols by wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and participating in safety meetings.
Experience
- Prior construction site experience or exposure to manufacturing environments is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and blueprint interpretation.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery is a plus.
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, or mechanical systems will help you succeed in this role.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions carefully while maintaining attention to detail during welding and assembly tasks.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively within a team environment. Pay: From $19.00 per hour
