CDL Class A Driver

• Foss Recycling is looking for Class A CDL drivers. We are a fast moving, metal recycling company that needs candidates to be flexible and willing to stay on task.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Operates a semi-truck & trailer according to applicable state and federal transportation laws. Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations. Skillfully maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals.
• Will be hauling a roll off trailer
• Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
• Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to Transportation Manager.
• Must be able to use an ELD (Electronic Logging Device). ALL Foss Recycling trucks have ELD's.
• Will perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
• Must have the skills and ability to drive a tractor trailer with a load possibly partly obscuring the rear-view vision. Must be able to use side mirrors effectively.
• Plan routes to ensure a minimum of traffic delays and maximum routing efficiency. Product must be delivered over to the customer, on or before time.

Education/Experience/Certifications

• Must have at least 3 yrs. experience with valid Class A CDL. Must be flexible to work 6 days a week if needed.
• Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 45 pounds at a time.
• The individual will drive for the majority of the time and will utilize body movements of twisting, bending, reaching and using the hands and arms in completing paperwork.
• The additional physical requirements include walking and standing around operating machinery and equipment while the load is being complete. Using your arms, legs, wrist, & back to climb on a trailer (if need be) to correct, inspect, or modify the load.
