Banner Quality Management Inc. (BQMI) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Public Relations Specialist to support NSWC Crane's Public Affairs Office. This role is essential in enhancing the visibility of NSWC Crane's mission, achievements, and initiatives through effective internal and external communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategic communication plans and recommendations to support organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Communications team to drive proactive media relations efforts.
  • Develop compelling content including news releases, media pitches, one-pagers, and media kit materials.
  • Write and edit articles for internal and external audiences, including national and local news outlets.
  • Ensure clarity, consistency, and effectiveness in all communication products.
  • Manage and grow NSWC Crane's presence across social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, X, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Create and execute dynamic content strategies, including visual graphics and performance tracking.
  • Recommend innovative content for social media campaigns and external websites.
  • Support content creation for NSWC Crane's public website, digital signage, iNFUSION toolset, SharePoint intranet, and outdoor marquee signs.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to play a crucial role in shaping and executing NSWC Crane's communication strategies. This position will be pivotal in implementing strategic communication plans, supporting both internal and external communications, and enhancing the organization's overall visibility. The specialist will be responsible for executing communication plans and recommendations, contributing to the development of comprehensive strategies and visibility initiatives.

A key responsibility will be to support proactive media relations efforts, collaborating closely with the NSWC Crane Corporate Communications team. This involves crafting compelling news releases, pitches, one-pagers, and other essential media kit materials to effectively promote NSWC Crane's mission and achievements. This position also requires the creation of engaging and informative articles for internal and external audiences, including content suitable for national and local news outlets, thereby supporting broader organizational objectives. Critical to success in this role is the ability to write, edit, and review communication products, ensuring clear, concise, and effective delivery of key information.

The specialist will strategically contribute to NSWC Crane's presence and engagement across various social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn. This includes developing and executing dynamic content strategies, creating engaging content that may include visual graphics, post regular updates, and meticulously track key performance metrics. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall effort to define and promote NSWC Crane's brand and mission within the digital landscape, including recommending innovative content for social media campaigns and external websites to support broader engagement and outreach initiatives.

Beyond social media, the specialist will provide content ideas and product creation in support of NSWC Crane's public website, digital signage program, iNFUSION toolset, SharePoint intranet, and digital outdoor marquee signs, ensuring a cohesive and impactful communications presence across all channels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in strategic communications, public relations, or digital media.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Familiarity with media relations and digital content creation.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and analyzing engagement metrics.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of government or defense-related communications is a plus.
