Lead Architect – Intelligent Voice Assistant Systems

About the Role

We are seeking a visionary Lead Architect to design and lead the development of a next-generation voice-first Virtual Personal Assistant (VPA) platform. The ideal candidate will bridge innovation in on-device voice AI with scalable cloud-based infrastructure, delivering fast, private, and high-quality voice interaction across modern Apple ecosystems.

What You'll Build & Own

• Architect and evolve a hybrid local/cloud VPA system optimized for real-time performance and privacy.
• Design and build scalable ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) and LLM (Large Language Model) pipelines for natural language understanding.
• Optimize transformer-based models for on-device deployment (e.g. Apple devices) using native ML toolchains and workflows.
• Implement accent-aware tuning, multilingual support, and voice customization for inclusive user experiences.
• Lead collaboration among cross-functional teams — engineering, product, and design — to define and deliver features.
• Prototype, iterate, and refine voice features while maintaining architectural hygiene and production readiness.

What We're Looking For — Key Qualifications & Skills

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering — especially with ASR, speech-to-text, or voice interface systems.
• Demonstrated experience architecting and shipping production-grade voice assistants, speech interfaces, or related AI systems.
• Proficiency in open-source ML tools and frameworks: PyTorch, JAX, Ray (or similar).
• Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Beam, Spark, Dask, Ray).
• Experience with mobile and device-native ML deployment (especially Apple platforms — iOS, macOS), including model optimization and toolchains.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, and ideally in one or more of C++ or Java.
• Passion for user experience, accessibility, and building inclusive, multilingual voice products.
• Comfort in both prototyping and designing scalable, maintainable system architectures.
