Job Title: Kitchen Aid & Classroom Floater
Location: First Baptist Children's Center
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:15 AM – 4:15 PM
Reports To: Center Director

Position Summary:

FBCC is seeking a reliable, organized, and flexible individual to join our team as a Kitchen Aid & Classroom Floater. This dual-role position is essential in ensuring the center maintains high standards of cleanliness and smooth daily operations while also supporting our teaching staff in caring for and educating children.

Key Responsibilities:

Kitchen & Facility Support

• Prepare breakfast and set up and deliver to classrooms.
• Clean kitchen area, including counters, sinks, and food prep areas, sweep and mop.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Ensure proper food storage and kitchen organization.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms and common areas daily.
• Assist with basic kitchen prep or food-related tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards per health regulations.

Break Coverage & Classroom Support

• Provide scheduled lunch breaks for classroom teachers.
• Supervise children at nap and engage in activities during staff breaks.
• Follow established classroom routines and procedures.

Classroom Floating & Afternoon Coverage

• Finish any kitchen duties that were not finished by 12:00
• Float between classrooms as needed to assist with ratios, activities, or transitions.
• Support lead teachers with classroom management, activities, and child supervision.
• Help with the Pre-K and Preschool classrooms
• Ensure a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for children.
• Assist with daily cleanup, child pickup, and end-of-day routines.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in childcare or working with children preferred.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and food safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be active throughout the day.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and flexible to meet daily needs.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Must meet all local licensing requirements, including background checks.
