Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Sales Manager / Floor Manager to lead our retail team and ensure exceptional customer experiences. In this dynamic role, you will oversee daily store operations, manage sales activities, and motivate staff to achieve their best. Your leadership will drive sales growth, maintain high standards of customer service, and foster a positive shopping environment. Duties

  • Supervise daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with company policies
  • Lead, motivate, and train sales associates to deliver outstanding customer service and meet sales targets
  • Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize product visibility and sales opportunities
  • Oversee cashiering activities, including cash handling, POS transactions, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and security
  • Coordinate purchasing, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to boost store performance and customer satisfaction
  • Conduct employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding processes to build a strong team
  • Implement employee training & development programs to enhance skills in sales management, product knowledge, and customer engagement
  • Monitor store performance metrics, prepare reports on sales figures, payroll, budgeting, and inventory levels
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized store environment
  • Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to uphold excellent service standards

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervising responsibilities
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, customer service excellence, and employee orientation
  • Proficiency in retail math, POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping, and inventory management software
  • Knowledge of merchandising techniques, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and store operations
  • Experience with payroll processing, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and stock control practices
  • Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Organizational skills with the capacity for time management and prioritization of tasks
  • Previous experience in retail sales or grocery stores is advantageous; assistant manager experience preferred
