Transit Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting passengers or goods in a safe and timely manner.

Salary
-Training: $12.00/Hour - for applicants without a CDL, Airbrake and Passenger
-Starting Salary: $26.10/Hour
-Six Months: $27.55/Hour
-One Year: $29.00/Hour

Benefits
-40+ hours/week.
-Applicants who already hold CDL-B, Airbrake, and Passenger receive $ $250.00 after six months, $250.00 after one year).
-Eight (8) paid holidays.

-No cleaning, sweeping, or fueling.
-Physical and drug testing paid by the MTA.

Duties
- Operate a transit bus on a fixed route or on a demand response schedule. Availability Monday-Saturday, a scheduled day off based on seniority.
- Conduct a complete vehicle safety check before and after use.
- Communicate effectively with passengers or clients
- Follow traffic laws and regulations at all times

Qualifications
-Be 18 years of age or older.
-Hold a valid driver's license for a minimum of two years.
-Have an excellent driving history (more than three recorded moving violations during the past two years will disqualify your application).
-Bring a current copy of their Motor Vehicle Record.
-Read and speak English sufficiently.
-Pass a DOT physical examination in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
-Pass a DOT drug/alcohol screening in accordance with Federal Motor -Carrier Safety Regulations.
-Pass a New Hampshire criminal background check.
-Be a high school graduate or have a GED.

Please note that anyone applying for a job as a bus operator must inform the MTA of all previous employment as the driver of a commercial vehicle within the last ten years.
