Executive Housekeeper – Holiday Inn & Suites (Rantoul, IL)Position Summary
Holiday Inn & Suites in Rantoul, IL is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-driven Executive Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping department. This leadership role oversees all housekeeping operations, ensuring exceptional cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and brand compliance. The ideal candidate has strong team-building skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to maintain a well-run, efficient housekeeping operation.
Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment Leadership
- Manage, train, mentor, and schedule housekeeping and laundry staff.
- Assign daily tasks, inspect completed work, and uphold IHG cleanliness and safety standards.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and laundry services.
- Implement and manage cleaning procedures, quality checks, and productivity standards.
- Maintain accurate room status and coordinate closely with the front desk, maintenance, and management teams.
Quality Control
- Perform regular inspections of guest rooms, suites, hallways, and common areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation meet Holiday Inn brand standards.
- Address deficiencies promptly and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Inventory & Budget Management
- Manage supply ordering, inventory levels, and cost controls for cleaning products, linens, and equipment.
- Monitor and maintain responsible use of supplies to remain within budget.
Training & Compliance
- Train new hires on cleaning procedures, equipment use, safety protocols, and guest service expectations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, IHG brand standards, and hotel safety procedures.
- Maintain secure storage and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
Guest Interaction & Service
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, complaints, and special accommodations.
- Work closely with the Guest Services team to support a smooth and exceptional guest experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Housekeeper in a hotel environment required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Thorough understanding of cleaning systems, housekeeping procedures, and safety standards.
- Ability to manage a diverse team and maintain a positive work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs., stand/walk for extended periods, and perform physical housekeeping duties as needed.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business demands.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with IHG properties or similar hotel brands.
- Familiarity with hotel PMS/housekeeping systems (e.g., Opera, HotSOS).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment
This leadership role requires a balance of administrative responsibilities and hands-on involvement in housekeeping operations. A strong focus on guest satisfaction, team development, and brand consistency is essential.
