About The Role
Lockheed Martin RMS is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Global Strike and Product Support 2 (GSPS2) engineering team at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work within an Agile / DevSecOps environment, developing web-based and Java-based mission systems tailored for the Intelligence, Global Strike, and Nuclear Planning communities. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced engineers, AI specialists, and data scientists to design, develop, and implement advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions that support critical national security missions. This role provides a unique chance to contribute to projects that directly impact the safety and security of our nation and allies, utilizing innovative technologies to solve some of the world's most challenging engineering problems.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited institution, complemented by at least 9 years of professional experience or 7 years with a master's degree. They must be a U.S. citizen eligible for a Top Secret security clearance, as this position involves access to sensitive information. Candidates should have substantial experience with AI and Machine Learning, including familiarity with programming languages such as Python, and frameworks used in AI development. Experience analyzing domain-specific problems and designing effective AI solutions is essential. Desired skills include DevOps practices with CI/CD pipelines, training deep neural networks, proficiency in Java and JavaScript, familiarity with high-performance computing environments, and experience interfacing with databases like Oracle and MongoDB.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and designing innovative AI and Machine Learning systems within the Rogue Blue Software environment, supporting the Integrated Strategic Planning and Analysis Network (ISPAN) Mission Planning and Application System (MPAS). Key responsibilities include creating models, performing data science and analytics, and integrating these systems with existing architectures. They will work closely with systems engineers, architects, scrum masters, product owners, and end-users to ensure mission capabilities meet operational requirements. Additionally, the role involves providing technical leadership in software development, ensuring secure coding practices, and contributing to the continuous improvement of mission systems. The engineer will also be involved in analyzing complex domain problems, recommending AI-based solutions, and implementing these solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.
