Join our fast-paced logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee, as a Material Handler. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring materials are moved, organized, and readily available for various processes. You will be responsible for operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to transport raw materials, finished goods, and supplies throughout the facility. Accurate inventory management and placement of materials are key to this position. You will also assist with loading and unloading trucks, maintaining organized storage areas, and performing regular safety checks on equipment. A strong understanding of warehouse flow and inventory control principles is beneficial. This position requires physical dexterity, the ability to perform frequent lifting of items up to 60 lbs, and a consistent commitment to safety. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled with care.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage locations.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock checks.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
- Follow all logistics and shipping procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform frequent and heavy lifting (up to 60 pounds).
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good physical stamina and coordination.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Team player with good communication skills.
