We are looking for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our team in Washington, D.C.! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently. You will ensure that all orders are packed correctly, labeled appropriately, and dispatched on time, playing a vital role in our company's logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Verify order details and prepare goods for shipment.
- Pack items securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Load shipments onto delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, adhering to Safety guidelines.
- Conduct final quality checks on outgoing orders before dispatch.
- Update shipping records in the inventory management system.
- Communicate with customer service and sales teams regarding shipment status.
- Ensure all required PPE is worn correctly, especially when handling materials.
- Must be capable of some manual Lifting, up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and packing.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with various types of PPE is necessary.
