SSH Key Technical Solutions Designer Job Description
Technical Solutions Designers are responsible for managing end‑to‑end solution design and delivering design documents in line with functional and non‑functional business requirements, strategies, principles, standards, and patterns. They publish architecture patterns, key decisions, design deviations, and technical risks and issues where appropriate. The designer presents solutions at design authorities and senior leadership and stakeholder meetings, providing technical thought leadership and direction to aligned projects. Principal Preferred Requirements – Cybersecurity Expertise
Significant experience and proven technical depth in SSH key management, identity & access management, cryptography, and privileged access management. Broad background across information technology with the ability to communicate clearly with non‑security technical SMEs. Experience working in large‑scale IT transformation programmes. Qualifications & Certifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, software engineering, or a related field. CISSP, CISM, or another broad cybersecurity industry‑recognised certificate. Platform & Technology
Working proficiency in Jira for project and tasks management. Working proficiency in Confluence for documentation. Experience with BizzDesign, Archi, or generic UML visualisation tools for high‑level designs. Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities – Architecture, Technical & Design
Produce, manage, and update end‑to‑end solution designs in line with reference architecture and business requirements. Articulate and publish key design decision records and options to ensure all solutions follow a logical, transparent decision‑making process. Ensure any design deviations resulting in technical debt are approved and documented. Record and mitigate technical risks or issues arising from a solution design. Translate requirements into the architecture for the solution, ensuring technology and services meet customer needs and expected business outcomes. Ensure solutions are efficient, timely, and cost‑effective throughout the project lifecycle. Promote strong documentation and stewardship. Governance
Ensure all high‑level designs, architecture patterns, decision records, deviation requests, and technical risk or issue records undergo architectural and project governance processes. Ensure all architecture and design artefacts undergo appropriate peer review prior to design authority presentation. Present design publications at technical design authorities for input, feedback, and approval. Risk and Dependency Management
Effectively manage and escalates technical and project risks or issues. Articulate solutions and remediation steps to technical risks and issues. Map design decisions to resultant technical risks and issues to articulate the cause and rationale that leads to any negatively impacting change. Leadership & Teamwork
Provide technical thought leadership in their domain of expertise. Willingness and ability to work across information technology as a cybersecurity SME, particularly with knowledge of SSH key management. Serve as subject matter expert and consultant to programmes. Mandatory Skills
