We’re partnering with a leading e-commerce business that’s scaling a modern, event-driven platform to support high transaction volumes and continued growth. They’re looking for a
Senior Backend Developer
to join a highly capable engineering team working with Node.js, TypeScript and Kafka.
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be building and evolving distributed backend services in a fast‑paced, product‑focused environment.
The Role
Build, maintain and improve backend services using
Node.js and TypeScript
Some experience with React
Develop and support
event-driven architecture , with
Kafka
at the core
Collaborate with product, frontend and platform teams to deliver scalable e‑commerce solutions
Contribute to system design, performance optimisation and best engineering practices
Take ownership of services from development through to production
What We’re Looking For
Strong commercial experience with
Node.js and TypeScript
Practical experience working with
event-driven systems
(Kafka experience preferred)
Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability and reliability
Experience working in complex backend environments (e‑commerce is a plus)
A collaborative mindset and a desire to build high-quality software
Salary & Benefits
Salary up to
£70,000
