WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You’ll report to the Sr Director, Global Brand Creative and work day to day with your peers in Brand Creative, Brand Management, Sports Marketing, Consumer Engagement, Digital Direct, Brand Planning, and Brand Operations. You’ll also work closely with the Brand Creative and Brand teams. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a Global Brand Creative Senior Principal Designer to lead our Basketball and Catalyst categories. As a key member of the Global Brand Creative team, you will develop world-class seasonal integrated marketing creative that impacts the brand and business of Converse. You will collaborate across functions and regions to shape the future of Converse as an authentic street-style brand for youth. You are a multidisciplinary creative experienced in Art Direction, Graphic Design, Typography, and Spatial Design. You enjoy collaborating with other creatives and marketing teams, delivering emotive and innovative work across multiple platforms. You are a leader and mentor to developing creatives and work well in a team environment. You have experience directing other creatives and working closely with writers, strategists, and producers. You can participate in strategic discussions and lead others through the creative process from conception to execution. You are capable of managing complex work streams independently, prioritizing your time effectively, and paying attention to detail from start to finish. You are passionate about art and design, especially related to Sport and Fashion (Basketball and Catalyst), and stay updated on industry trends. You also have experience commissioning external talent, briefing, critiquing, and growing your creative network. You are familiar with digital storytelling, social platforms, and owned commerce platforms, and understand current creative and design trends. You implement creative across various channels, including photo direction, narrative development, graphic design, communication, moving images, and environmental design where needed. Respect, proactivity, and appreciation for diversity and equality are essential. You must embody Nike’s culture and values.

A minimum of 10+ years of creative experience in art direction and/or design, preferably with a focus on consumer brands.

Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field; suitable alternative combinations of education, experience, and training are acceptable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including listening and coaching abilities.

Exceptional design skills, including drawing, typography, ideation, color theory, texture, art direction, visual presentation, and layout.

Ability to apply these skills innovatively to elevate brand excellence, with solid knowledge of design processes.

Experience directing photography (talent and product), illustration, and external agencies.

Understanding of trends influencing design, especially in graphic design and lifestyle.

Strong technical knowledge of digital and innovative practices.

Ability to distill briefs into clear, creative concepts.

Experience collaborating with various functions and external stakeholders, embracing shared workstreams.

Passion for reinventing traditional workflows, challenging the status quo, and pushing creative boundaries.

Good judgment, decision-making skills, emotional intelligence, and a growth mindset.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and relationship management abilities.

Passion for sports, sports culture, and lifestyle.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON Develop seasonal brand product stories for Basketball and Catalyst categories.

Research photographers, talent, and collaborators for seasonal objectives; create mood boards to guide photographic and style direction.

Innovate in visual and digital storytelling methods.

Create and update seasonal assets, including imagery, copy, and design systems.

Develop creative briefs and manage asset delivery with the Global Brand Creative team.

Create visual centers and toolkits that simplify complex concepts into understandable communication and guidance.

Manage multiple agency relationships across projects, maintaining a strong creative voice and rigor.

Collaborate with teams across North America, Western Europe, China, and global markets, including Innovation, Design, and Consumer Insights.
