About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager specializing in construction within the academic research sector, particularly overseeing sophisticated projects in the Long Island area. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects exceeding $50 million, with a focus on academic research facilities or similar complex environments. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills, capable of serving as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the project, ensuring that objectives related to schedule, budget, quality, and safety are met or exceeded. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead high-profile projects that contribute to advancing academic and research initiatives, working within a collaborative environment that values innovation and excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10+ years of successful construction project management experience, with an emphasis on major healthcare or research-related projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Recognized ability to lead, motivate, and manage internal teams and external stakeholders effectively.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse project levels ranging from tradespeople to executive leadership.
- Proven success in managing projects within budgets and schedules, demonstrating problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience overseeing projects with budgets exceeding $50 million, particularly in the academic, healthcare, or research sectors.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants, maintaining clear and proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead the project team as the client's on-site representative, ensuring all project activities align with contractual obligations and project goals.
- Develop, monitor, and evaluate project schedules and budgets, identifying deviations early and proposing corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control oversight, ensuring all project deliverables meet the firm's standards and client expectations.
- Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and vendors to facilitate seamless project execution.
- Manage project documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
