Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our assisted living, memory care, and long-term care communities. The Activities Director will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging recreational activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and emotional well-being among residents. This position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional care to individuals with diverse needs.

Duties

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
  • Plan and coordinate events that foster community engagement and enhance socialization among residents.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive for all residents, including those with disabilities.
  • Assist residents in participating in activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continuously improve programming.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding upcoming events and activities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make necessary adjustments based on resident feedback.
  • Stay informed about best practices in recreational therapy and community care to enhance program offerings.

Requirements

  • Experience in event planning or recreational therapy is preferred.
  • Familiarity with assisted living, home community care, or long-term care environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team while demonstrating empathy towards individuals with varying abilities.
  • Knowledge of memory care practices is a plus.
  • A passion for working with people with disabilities and enhancing their quality of life through meaningful activities.
  • Must possess organizational skills to manage multiple events simultaneously while ensuring attention to detail.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
