Snow plow sub contractor/ owner operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Snow Plow Operator to efficiently manage snow removal operations during winter months. This role is essential for maintaining safe and accessible roads, driveways, and parking areas. The ideal candidate will have experience operating snow plows and related equipment, with a strong focus on safety and precision. Prior knowledge of landscaping, lawn care, or landscape maintenance is a plus, along with familiarity with various tools and machinery used in outdoor maintenance.

Duties

• Operate snow plows and related machinery to clear snow from roads, parking lots, driveways, and walkways
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plow equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other landscaping equipment for snow removal tasks as needed
• Assist with ice control measures such as applying salt or sand to surfaces
• Conduct safety checks before and after operations to identify potential hazards
• Support other landscape or outdoor maintenance activities including mowing, tree care, trimming, or irrigation during off-season periods
• Maintain detailed records of work completed and equipment used

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities Include: Read a route sheet and know the most efficient travel routes Must have a phone and be able to clock in at different locations on their phone. Maintains safe work practices. May have to do some sidewalk shoveling. Must be on call 24/7 including holidays from December 1st to April 15th Must have a valid and acceptable driver's license and insurance. Report to first site on their route within one hour of being dispatched out.

Qualifications and Skills

Owner operators will drive and operate their own work vehicle and snow plow. These drivers will have route sheet and will report directly to the first job site within 1 hour of being dispatched out.

Proven experience operating snow plows and heavy machinery such as excavators or landscape equipment

• Mechanical knowledge related to maintenance and troubleshooting of plow trucks and power tools
• Familiarity with landscaping, lawn care, horticulture, hardscape installation, or tree care is advantageous
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and adhere to safety protocols
• Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction-related equipment is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• Physical ability to handle manual tasks involving lifting, bending, and operating machinery for extended periods

Pay: $ $85.00 per hour
