The Human Resources Manager will be a strategic business partner to plant leadership and provide support to the employees. The Human Resources manager will provide and develop the talent and culture for the facility as well as have primary accountability for the overall success, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Human Resources department at the facility. The role will support key stakeholders to improve organizational capability, drive change, define organizational needs, and resolve employee issues. The role will manage employee relations at the plant and partner with corporate HR on strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem from time to time.

  • Being a strategic partner at the plant leadership level
  • Ensuring alignment of HR processes with overall HR strategic and operating goals
  • Counseling, advising, and training management on performance-based issues, facilitating any formal or informal complaints to resolution
  • Providing employee relations counseling and problem solving for managers and employees to ensure a productive work environment, remaining consistent with company values and policies and in adherence to state and federal regulatory law
  • Driving employee engagement and satisfaction while balancing employee concerns
  • Maintain accurate job descriptions
  • Partnering with hiring managers to determine staffing needs/levels
  • Managing all aspects of recruitment strategies for both hourly and salaried employees including, but not limited to, posting jobs and recruiting for open positions, coordinating screenings, interviews, and selecting new hire candidates
  • Creation and distribution of offer packet and other candidate communication
  • Onboarding Management:
  • Coordinating background checks and other pre-employment activities
  • Onboarding/orientation of new associates
  • Entering all information into the ADP system
  • Processing the administration of employee benefits, compensation, performance appraisal programs, personnel record keeping, unemployment claims and training
  • Administering bi-weekly payroll for employees
  • Administering all benefits for Balcan USA: managing broker and carrier relationships, taking complex benefits issues and driving resolution, insuring proper billing of benefits, data entry in Employee Navigator system, annual open enrollment management
  • Managing the annual performance review process and merit increases at the plant site
  • Managing the leave of absences for all assigned employees. This includes issuing the appropriate documents to employees requesting FML or STD, sending responses to employees who have returned their completed paperwork, and following up with all parties involved while an employee is off work. Additionally, this includes periodic contact with the employee, advising payroll of employee's status, and keeping the Supervisor/Manager informed of the employee's estimated return to work date
  • Identifying all levels of internal candidates through succession planning process (high potential candidates, low performers)
  • Assisting in creating development plans for each type of candidate
  • Identifying and determining management training needs
  • Performing general clerical duties including, but limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing
  • Implement, maintain, and champion rewards and recognition programs for site
  • Manage first report of injury, case investigations, and light duty and leave scenarios for workers compensation claims
  • Engage with safety and management regarding workers compensation to manage light duty and leave scenarios
  • Work with corporate HR attorneys on expat/visa/green card coordination
  • Participate in company-wide projects for corporate HR
  • Lead training for HR, benefits, and other programs as appropriate
  • Monthly and annual HR metrics, creation analysis, and reporting
  • Document, communicate, and apply policies and procedures to ensure fair and consistent treatments of all employees; hourly and salaried
  • Administer local compensation including annual merit increases
  • Conduct exit interviews and share trends with leadership
  • Recommend policies and practices to leadership
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Experience working in HRIS systems: ADP WFN preferred
  • Strong computer/enterprise system skills
  • Ability to coach employees and management through complex issues and make recommendations that are consistent with policies, procedures, and government laws

Education and /or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources related field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • SHRM CP, SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience, management experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Professional experience comprising individual organizational discipline(s), line of business discipline(s), and industry insight
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience of federal and state employment laws and other government compliance regulations
  • ADP or payroll processing experience
  • Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization
  • Effective interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Dynamic, flexible team player with demonstrated ability to lead others
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Able to work with others in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks in an effective manner
  • Able to organize work, manage time and workload with minimal supervision
  • Maintaining professional attitude; showing courtesy to co-workers, vendors and customers

Pay: $80, $90,000.00 per year
