We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as an Administrator in Training (AIT) in our assisted living facility. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to develop leadership and operational skills under the direct supervision of a Licensed Administrator, with the goal of fulfilling Virginia's requirements to become a licensed Assisted Living Facility Administrator.
Essential Responsibilities:

Participate in a structured AIT program that includes training in all key operational areas:

Resident Care Management

Staff Supervision and Human Resources
-
Regulatory Compliance
-
Budgeting and Financial Oversight
-
Admissions and Marketing
-
Facility Maintenance and Risk Management
-

Work closely with department heads to learn and support daily operations.

Ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) licensing regulations.

Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures.

Help coordinate care planning and quality assurance initiatives.

Attend leadership, compliance, and strategic planning meetings.

Develop working knowledge of VDSS Standards for Licensed Assisted Living Facilities and Virginia Board of Long-Term Care Administrators requirements.

Assist in managing staff training, performance evaluations, and schedules.

Foster a resident-centered culture and promote excellent customer service.
Physical Requirements:
-
Ability to move about the facility and participate in resident and staff activities

Occasional lifting or assisting residents, up to 50 lbs

Must be able to handle the physical and emotional demands of working in a care facility
Program Duration:
-
The AIT program follows the Virginia Board's required hours (minimum of 320–640 depending on experience) and is tailored to meet state licensure requirements.

Qualifications:

Current LPN or RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (Required)

Bachelor's degree in a related field (Preferred but not required)

Eligible and accepted into an AIT program approved by the Virginia Board of Long-Term Care Administrators

At least 1–2 years of experience in long-term care, senior living, or healthcare setting

Strong leadership potential and a passion for working with seniors

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to work flexible hours as needed during training
