$200,000 - $220,000 + Discretionary Bonus

Our client is a leading provider of urgent care services, with locations in the Southeast US. They offer a broad range of urgent care, wellness, and occupational health services. Backed by a prominent Private Equity firm, this organization combines the stability of an established healthcare network with the dynamic, fast-paced growth potential of a PE portfolio company.
The Role:
We are seeking a hands-on, execution-oriented
Controller
to serve as the right hand to the CFO. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all accounting operations for a multi-site healthcare organization. You will lead a team of approximately 10–12 professionals ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
This position offers high visibility, including interaction with the Private Equity board, involvement in special projects, and the opportunity to drive financial strategy in a complex, multi-site billing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
Manage day-to-day accounting functions and lead a team of ~12 staff members; mentor and develop the team to ensure high performance. - Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and support board reporting and presentations. - PE Relations:
Handle Private Equity board responsibilities, ad-hoc reporting, and special projects as requested by the CFO and PE partners. - Revenue Cycle Oversight:
Ensure accuracy across multi-site operations with a heavy focus on insurance billing and healthcare finance intricacies. - Process Improvement:
Optimize accounting procedures and internal controls to support the company's continued growth across the Southeast market.
Requirements:
- Healthcare Experience:
Candidates ideally will have experience in healthcare finance, specifically with insurance billing and revenue cycle complexities. - Technical Proficiency:
- Excel:
Advanced skills required (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.). - ERP:
Proficiency in large accounting systems; experience with
Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
is highly preferred. - EHR:
Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems is a strong plus. - Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, years of related experience, with at least 2 years in healthcare
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- GAAP knowledge, CPA preferred
- Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
