Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Machinery Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating a mini excavator around existing underground utilities, have a strong work ethic, and demonstrate excellent leadership skills. The Machinery Operator will be responsible for leading a small crew, solving problems in the field, ensuring high-quality work, and maintaining a customer-oriented attitude. Attention to detail and a focus on safety will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a mini excavator around utilities, ensuring safe and efficient excavation practices.
• Lead and manage a small crew to ensure tasks are completed on time and to specification.
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve operational issues in the field.
• Maintain a focus on high-quality work while adhering to safety protocols.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues.
• Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and comply with safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.
• Assist with training and mentoring less experienced crew members.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating a mini excavator, particularly in close proximity to utilities.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think on your feet.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong work ethic and self-motivation to work independently and with a team.
• Customer-oriented with a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to perform physical labor and work in varying weather conditions.
