Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of deli products, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, food safety, and retail operations within a dynamic food industry setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and other food products in accordance with company standards and food safety guidelines
• Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for transactions involving cash handling and credit card payments
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their selections, answering questions, and upselling products when appropriate
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, utensils, and equipment to ensure compliance with health regulations
• Manage time effectively to serve customers promptly during busy periods
• Handle cashiering duties accurately using POS systems, including processing transactions and giving correct change
• Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times to maintain product quality and safety
• Assist in inventory management by restocking items as needed and monitoring product freshness
• Uphold sanitation standards in the kitchen area, adhering to food safety protocols

Requirements

• Prior experience in food preparation or food service is preferred; restaurant or deli experience is a plus
• Knowledge of POS systems such as Micros POS and cashiering procedures
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing simple calculations for upselling or change-making
• Understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Kitchen experience or familiarity with the food industry is advantageous but not required
