Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced veterinary environment. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. This is a set schedule requiring the candidate to work at both locations (Camp Bowie & Willow Park).
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Handle medical collections and process payments accurately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
- Assist veterinarians with basic animal handling and restraint during examinations.
- Provide information on pet care, including nutrition, grooming, and training resources.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and clinic facilities.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent patient care.
Skills
The ideal candidate should possess a combination of the following skills:
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy.
- Experience in medical collection processes within a veterinary setting.
- Familiarity with kennel operations and animal husbandry practices.
- Ability to handle animals safely, including dog handling, restraint, and grooming techniques.
- Experience in veterinary critical care or laboratory settings is a plus.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques related to animal care.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Experience with equine care is desirable but not mandatory.
