Advance Wire Products Ltd. (AWP) is North America's leading designer and manufacturer of innovative merchandising solutions for the retail grocery, convenience, and pharmacy market. We are growing and have an immediate requirement for an experienced SolidWorks Designer to join our Surrey team.

Our team combines in-depth research with front-line retail experience to anticipate and meet the needs of our clients and their business practices. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Designer analyzes the scope of work and creates drawings that march our manufacturing capabilities.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interprets project scopes and requirements provided my the clients, developing technical drawings, layouts and design packages using solidworks.
- Prepares diagrams, schematics, parts breakdown and interconnect lists from sketches, notes and instructions from the Sales Team.
- Maintains documentation control of drawing revisions.
- Ensures drawings comply with standards as set by Manager.
- Reviews and updates existing specifications and drawings to incorporate requested design changes.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years' experience in design/engineering (sheet metal and plastic parts) using SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of CNC Programming (Laser cutting/Turret punch) an asset.
- Possesses strong technical knowledge to enable accurate analysis, detail oriented and results driven.
- Willing to research new products, understands contractor application.
- Detail oriented with exceptional analytical ability.
- Proven track record simplifying complex problems.
- Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written.
- Proficient with MS Office (intermediate Word & Excel).
- Superior time management and organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize under limited supervision.
- Be a team player willing to perform hands-on tasks to get the job done while bringing a positive attitude to the workplace.
